Trust and Transparency

filikicert.grEuropean and National Legislation on Organic Agriculture set the minimum requirements regarding the Control System in organic production. Control Bodies have to perform at least one on-site audit per year, per controlled operator, unannounced audits at least at 10% of the controlled operators and laboratory analyses at a minimum of 5% of the controlled operators, in total.

At Filiki, we believe that the stricter the Control System the more effective and reliable it becomes. With this criterion, we operate a Control System considerably stricter than the minimum requirements set by the European Committee and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, making it more challenging for controlled operators and operations.

We achieve this with:

More controls: Filiki holds at least two (2) audits per year for every registered operator and operation.

More analyses: Filiki is committed to carry out a minimum of 25% of laboratory analyses for all controlled operators and operations, each year.

Transparency: All procedures that are related to the inspection of operators and operations and the certification of products are carried out with transparency and impartiality. That is governed by an independent body, the Impartiality Committee, parallel to monitoring controls held by the Competent Authorities.

Emphasis in production rules: Control of operators and operations is realized both by ensuring the integrity of organic products and by emphasizing in the production method. Organic products have to be produced in a way that any unfavorable environmental consequence is minimized and by ensuring the optimum living conditions for the animals.
